1. ENGLISH LANGUAGE CENTER (ELC) – INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM
Program Overview
The English Language Center (ELC) at the University of Manitoba offers an intensive Academic English Program (AEP) for students who do not yet meet the English language requirements for direct admission to the university. This program builds a strong academic English foundation, ensuring students are well-prepared for undergraduate studies.
Program Structure
- Comprises 5 progressive levels, each lasting 14 weeks
- After completing Level 5, students receive a Conditional Letter of Acceptance (CLA) to the University of Manitoba
- Curriculum emphasizes academic skills: listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, and critical thinking

- Tuition Fee: CAD 4,400 per level (14 weeks)
- Intakes: January, May, and September
- Entry Requirement: No IELTS required – placement test administered upon arrival

2. INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE OF MANITOBA (ICM)
About ICM
ICM is the official pathway provider to the University of Manitoba. It offers international students a supportive and flexible transition into undergraduate degree programs. 3. ICM PATHWAY PROGRAMS
ICM offers three main study pathways depending on your academic background and English proficiency:
A. UTP Stage I – University Foundation Program
- For: Students who have completed Grade 11
- Purpose: Academic bridging to prepare for UTP II (equivalent to first-year university)
- Academic Requirement: GPA ≥ 6.0 (in 4 core subjects)
- English Requirement: IELTS 5.5 (no band below 5.0)
- Duration: 2 terms (~8 months)
- Tuition Fee (2025–2026): CAD 20,990
B. UTP Stage II – First-Year University Transfer Program
- For: Students who have completed Grade 12
- Purpose: Equivalent to first year of a bachelor’s degree. Upon completion, students progress directly into Year 2 at the University of Manitoba
- Academic Requirement: GPA ≥ 6.0 (in 4 core subjects)
- English Requirement: IELTS 5.5 (no band below 5.0)
- Duration: 3 terms (~12 months)
- Tuition Fee (2025–2026): CAD 22,485 (30 credits at CAD 749.50/credit)
C. Mixed Program – Academic + English Support
- For: Students with academic qualifications but lower English scores
- English Requirement: IELTS 5.0 (no band below 4.5)
- Duration: 1 term (~4 months), then continue to UTP I or II
- Tuition Fee: CAD 6,819

6. SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Entrance Scholarship
- Amount: CAD 2,000
- Automatically awarded to new UTP I or UTP II students who meet eligibility criteria and payment deadlines
Navitas Family Bursary
- 10% tuition discount for the second and subsequent family members studying at a Navitas institution
- Applicable to ICM students enrolled at different times
7. DEFERRAL & REFUND POLICY
- Deferral: Students may defer their admission for up to two terms without additional charges (if requested before the deadline)
- Refunds:
- Before the program starts: CAD 500 administration fee + 20–50% deduction depending on notice period
- If visa is refused: full refund minus CAD 500
